About Me…

Creating has been part of my life for as far back as I can remember. I have fond memories of my Granny making ceramics that she sold out of her garage. She was, and always will be, an inspiration for me to tap into my creative side.

I’ve dabbled in different types of creative outlets over the years, from custom cake and cookies, to jewelry making, sketching, and many things in between. Eventually I discovered art journaling which led me to painting. It was when I tried my hand at creating abstract work that I discovered a world of mysterious creatures living in paint marks and splatters.

I approach painting as an experiment, a chance to play like when I was a child. I have no real goal or plan in mind besides putting paint and marks down. As I’m painting, I look for hints and guides in the paint and marks. Many times, it may be one small mark that looks like an eye or a nose. Or lines that look like legs or a hand. I’ll follow that clue, and as I start to define what I see, more of the picture comes into focus. It’s a fun experience that often leaves me with a sense of wonder.

When I’m not painting, I’m caring for 2 unruly bunnies and my sweet rescue Greyhound, Asher. I love being outdoors and spending time trying to spot wildlife. My life would be incomplete without animals which is likely why they show up in my work so often. I consider the creatures in my paintings as little messengers from a world beyond and they remind me how precious creatures and nature are to our world.

Art is not what you see but what you make others see.
